We selected five random plots within the Rock Point property by walking the trails and selecting adequate representations of the surrounding forest. We then used a GPS to determine the coordinates of the plot centers. The plots had an 11.7 foot radius. We used a DBH tape to determine the diameter of the trees present in each plot, as well as a clinometer to determine tree height. We also took photographs to capture the trees at the time of data collection. We recorded data on iTree sheets and inserted them into Microsoft Excel to computerize the data. We then analyzed the data and photographs to determine health and vigor of the trees.
